3. Norah Kwamboka – This lady is Prisca’s sister. She is a
widow who has volunteered for two years in helping our chil-
dren in washing their clothes every day, together with others.
They also work together in doing general cleaning in the
dorms. Norah was left with two sons, Isaac and Denis. She is
now twenty-eight years old. She is a wonderful lady who is
very helpful to our children.
4. Ruth Ongachwa – She is twenty-six years old and has
worked for Glory Center for three months only—just since
their arrival in Kisii. She is the Assistant Matron who cares for
the small children in their dorms. She is very helpful to these
younger children and also helps with any work that is needed.
She is a dedicated lady.
5. Glades Onyanbu – Glades is a twenty-eight-year-old
widow with three children, who is working as our Head Matron.
She is in charge of the girls’ dormitory and also helps in the
kitchen. Since her husband died, there was no way for the chil-
dren to go to school, but now her children are attending school
in our home school. They are now a happy family. When Moses
andPrisca are away, Glades and Patrick take care of everything.
6. Ombati Rogoncho – He is twenty- eight years
old and works as a cleaner at the Center. His
family consists of his wife, Damaris and
children Violet and Gichora. This man
has had a very difficult life as an orphan
himself, so did not go to school. When
he came to us he was in a very bad
stuation but now he is happy and is
able to walk proudly. He is doing a
very good job for us.
7. Lispa Nchaga – She is a
twenty-one-year-old orphan who is a sister
to Ronah Nchaga. She is a tailor and is help-
ing by repairing the children’s clothes and
making unforms for them. She is doing a very
beautiful work together with Naomi Ntenga. These ladies are
helpful to us in so many ways. They are also assisting Prisca
when she makes sweaters for the children, using the knitting
machine.
8. Naomi Ntenga – She is a twenty-year-old orphan who
works with Lispa Nchaga (see above).
9. Edinah Kerubo – She is a twenty-seven- year-old
woman whose husband divorced her when he married another
wife, leaving her alone with four children. She helps at the
Center by taking care of the store and serv-
ing the children during mealtime. She
also helps by going into villages to look
for fresh fruits and vegetables. Most
of them that are found in the market
are not fresh. Edinah is very, very
helpful to us and enjoys her job. She
lives a bit far from the Center so her
children are not able to travel to our
school.
10. Abel Moranga – Abel is helping in getting us wood.
Without this man we could not cook any food. He makes sure
that every day he has prepared wood for the day. He is very im-
portant to us. Abel and his wife have four children. They are a
very poor family and his children were not
going to school but now they are attend-
ing school in our home school. He is a
good man and dedicated in his work.
11. Onderi Anyieni – He is
thirty-five-years old and is married,
with four children. He is now our
watchman at night. The safety of the
children is a primary concern and, in a
country with so many suffering, even
storing grain can put them at risk. He is a good man who is do-
ing a good work.
12. Jared Nyaosi – This man works in the field. Pastor Mo-
ses donated some land for planting some vegetables and toma-
toes, so this man is working on our new garden where we are
soon going to plant. Jared is twenty-nine-years old and has a
wife and three children. He is a strong man andhis work is good.
13. Beatrice Koroba – She is our first orphan to graduate
from our Center—in 2005. We love Beautrice for
her work that she is doing. Beatrice is a beauti-
ful and talented girl with a gift for music.
She is training the children in singing and
is also a spritual leader and a very good
teacher. She would like to further her
education, which will make her a
good teacher in our school. We pray
that God will open a way for her to
have the intruments she needs to pro-
duce her own songs, of which she has
now written six. She is a wonderful lady in
our home.
Our Expression of Thanks
We are so thankful for all those who give
of themselves so unselfishly to help at these orphanages and
we pray that someday we will find a way to help them improve
their lifestyles. Many are not living as well as our orphans, but
are so dedicated to the work and children. We are so very grate-
ful to them, and could not care for nearly as many children
without their love and hard work.
In closing, I just want to again say a big thank-you to God
for His wonderful love and care, to our Hearth to Hearth Minis-
tries staff members here in USA, to all our readers for your
prayers for this project, to our sponsors for your faithfulness
and the love you give to your children, and also to our do-
nors—what would we do without you? God bless everyone!
?
[*Pastor Maurice notes that “in the US, you have the name
Hillary for a woman. That is so confusing and I fail to under-
stand why your people do it.” Florence has two other children
who used to come for food at the center. The man who inherited
her after her husband's death also died just four months ago.
Pastor says, “She is willing to come to the center but we just
don't have a place where she can stay. I am sure life is very dif-
ficult for her.”]
