me, everything now is working better and
there are no more children we will let in.
We are all human and sometimes we
do mistakes without knowing. Let us for-
give to one another so that the love of God
may dwell in our hearts. Thank you Mum,
and I hope you
will bear with us.
Pray and God
will show us a
clear direction. I
love you so much
as you do to me.
We love you all
too. Thank you
and have God’s
blessings.
With lots of
love,
Son Moses
Dear Esther,
Pastor
Maurice visited
Teresa four days
ago. Logan and I
shall visit her very soon. Pastor says
things are fine. We will check for our-
selves, speak with Teresa personally and
file a report [regarding the thirty-one
children the government placed at Hope
Center last month] ASAP. We have not
had a chance to check on Mama Grace.
We have asked Pastor to get us to her.
We will report as soon as possible.
Received all your emails with great
joy and feel loved all over. We love the
children and look forward to continuing
the work of God through HTHM.
With all our love,
Logan & Brian
Dear Esther,
Moses will let us farm on his land
and we can purchase the adjacent four
acres for 6000.00 USD. I believe this
land is more than suitable for the neces-
sary buildings needed.
By the way, the Hope Center is fine.
Since Logan and I have arrived, the Hope
Center has turned away 944 children. I am
certain that many of them will be dead soon
if some way of raising money is not found.
I pray constantly that HTHM will
work in areas other than 30.00 per month.
[Of course, the donors to this ministry
have been providing many extra funds,
not only for our own project, but for relief
to the surrounding areas. Being fairly new
to working with us, Brian is not aware of
all that has been done and will continue to
be done.] We spend much of our time
dealing with the humanitarian crisis. We
are doing everything we can to accommo-
date HTHM.
Thank you and much love to you,
Brian
Dear Mom and Dad [Scot
& Maria Harvey],
Things are going quite
well here at Hope Center. I
finally met the children you
have sponsored, Kevin and
Velma. Kevin was very
happy for the gifts but Velma
was terrified of me at first. I
guess she has never seen a
white man before. I gave two
dresses that fit her well and
the doll, which she was also
scared of for awhile because
it was white. She isn’t quite
so scared of me now and I
think she likes the doll.
What I wanted to write
most of all is about all the
children who come to Hope’s gate but
have to be turned away. I bought thirty
loaves of bread yesterday and was able to
give them two pieces of bread each this
morning.
There were 60+ children at the time,
but later there was a total of 115 children
today. This was probably the only meal
they have had for days. The bread is quite
cheap, approximately thirty cents a loaf.
I’m going to buy more today. I
would like to ask the church if
it would be possible to send
me $200 a month to buy food
for these starving children. I
know that two slices of bread
isn’t much, but these children
are starving, and I feel that I
have to do something. Most of
these children are skin and
bones with swollen bellies.
I’m almost out of money so
please try to do something.
Also, if possible, I would
like to do something about
their clothes. Most of them are
dressed in rags, some so bad I
don’t know why they even
wear them at all. Maybe you
could organize a clothes drive
for these children. If this is possible,
please send all my extra clothes with the
rest. There are so many suffering children
here, but I know that our church, family,
and friends can make a difference. And
please thank our church for what they are
going to do in June. I know that the church
sale will help a lot. Please write back and
tell me if you think that these requests are
possible.
I love and miss you all,
Logan
Dear Mom [Maria Harvey],
Thanks so much for the letter. I’m so
happy to hear that you will be sending
money for the children. I know it will help
a lot. There have been more than 200 chil-
dren coming to the gate every day for the
last couple days. This morning there was a
particularly sad story. A girl around fif-
teen was taking care of her three younger
siblings because her mother died four
months ago. One of her siblings was six
months old and was skin and bones. He
probably weighed less than a newborn
and probably would have died within a
week or two from starvation. The other
brothers were starving as well.
We are going to help these children
as much as we can and today they are go-
ing to take the baby to a hospital. I’m go-
ing to buy some milk for the baby for
when he comes out of the hospital and
the ladies here are going to take care of
him. I cried so much when I saw such an
innocent baby dying of starvation. I am
so happy now that we are going to be
able to give him proper care.
Yes, it would
be better to send
money for the
clothes instead of
sending them.
We can buy them
here cheaper than
you can and it
will help whom-
ever we buy them
from. By the time
you pay for ship-
ping, it would not
be cost efficient.
I gave some little
girls the little
dresses you sent
extra. They are so
beautiful and they
looked really
nice. Velma is
starting to warm up to me, even though
she is still nervous. She now likes the
doll. She is a little smaller than

making for these children!
