The first issue

of SOON (Spot-

light on Orphans newsletter) Extra was

sent out by email on August 15. It took

longer than we imagined to get the mast-

head designed and to determine how to

send it directly on the email page.

If you did not receive this newsletter

and would like to have it, please send an

email to Extra@HearthtoHearth.org. It

could be that we sent you one at an ob-

solete email address.

If you received SOON Extra and

would rather not continue receiving it,

please email us at the above address

and ask to be taken off our list.

If you have any suggestions for fu-

ture issues, we would appreciate hear-

ing from you as well.

SOON Extra will not be sent on a

set schedule, at least for now, but only

as we have items of interest to share.

We are pleased

to announce

that Jolie Trogdon of Hidden Valley

Lake, California, has a treadle sewing

machine to donate to Madonna Wilson

in Deadwood, Oregon. If anyone has

any suggestions as to how to get this

machine to Madonna, please contact

Vicki Kritzell (see Page 11).

We are saddened

that the

Miller’s (see Page 8) have suffered a

death in their family. Please remember

this family in your prayers at this diffi-

cult time.

FROM OUR MAILBAG:

Thank you for taking the time to ex-

plain to me how the monies (exchange)

work. I wanted to send my sweet ones

a little something extra this month for

whatever they need the most, or just

whatever. Thanks so much for the work

you do. It does not go unnoticed by our

Heavenly Father.

I have a kindergarten Sabbath

School class willing to take on a mis-

sions project and need to know what is

really urgent that they can work toward.

They would only raise a few dollars a

week, so it would need to be something

small. I was wondering about some-

thing like blankets or mosquito nets or

is food more urgent right now? This is

the Bowman Hills SDA church. There

are about twelve kids.

I received the Spotlight yesterday

and can see that the needs are great. I

would like to help all the projects but am

not able to. The enclosed $4000; $2000

for Mbale and $2000 for Kampala. You

know what they each need so I will

leave it to you for its use.

secondary kids in Uganda back into

I’m sending this check to be used

to feed the orphans in Africa who are

turned away at the gate. Please us it to

buy some protein food (peanut butter

or eggs, for example) to go with the

bread. I’m not a Seventh-day Adventist

but I know Logan Harvey and want to

help him in the wonderful work that he’s

doing in Africa.

Minnesota

We have been trying to send

something every month to feed the or-

phans of Kenya. We know that there

are two orphanages to support. When

we send the money, we want you to

give it to where it is needed the most.

We are a very small church and we

don’t get much to give. I put a large

glass jar for donations for the orphans

of Kenya in our church. We love all

those little blessed orphans. We pray

that God and Jesus will help us all to

take care of them.

I am thirteen years old. I get the

Spotlight on Orphans and I am very

glad on what you all are doing. God has

truly blessed in many ways and will

continue to bless y’all. I was writing to

you to let you know that I was thinking

about the orphans. I am sending y’all

$220 for anything you all need at those

centers.
