clearing land, moving bricks, and digging ditches. They
were really thrilled and couldn’t wait to move to their new
place.
Back at the orphanage, we all led out in a Cre-
ation-themed Vacation Bible School. It was a new experi-
ence for the children. They had never been to anything like
that before. They were good listeners and it was fun helping
them do their Bible-related crafts.
Sabbaths were a blessing. Pastor Maurice gave
thought-provoking sermons. It was inspiring to hear the kids
sing. They have awesome abilities, and many are musically
talented.
Pastor Maurice and Edith have a special interest in
children and a love for reaching out and helping others.
We were blessed while we were there.
We had so many wonderful experiences during our
stay in Africa. As I sat down to write, I felt lost, not sure
where to start. We met lots of great brothers and sisters
and made many new friends.
Africa’s people have great needs. There are numer-
ous homeless refugees, orphans, and hungry families.
There are many people who need medical care, food
and clothing, and children who just want someone to
love them. Not everyone can go, but there are always
ways to help!
I would like to ask you to join me in praying for and
helping our African brothers and sisters. Perhaps some-
day we can all meet in Heaven.

Brief Projects Update
By Vicki Kritzell & Esther McDaniel
Hope for Children Center
:
Pastor Maurice has taken great
pains to see that all the children will be
well cared for during his absence to
visit USA. While he is here, we hope to
start making plans for our own school
on the grounds of the orphanage. Only
12 of the over 120 children remain
unsponsored. Several hundred dollars
were raised in the past month for fam-
ine relief, which will be an ongoing ef-
fort until harvest in late August.
Glory Children’s Center
:
We now have 15 of the 33 children
at Glory Center sponsored! Prisca is
enjoying knitting sweaters with her new
machine, and has made some for the
refugees in Nairobi as well. One of
our goals for Glory Center is to move
the orphanage away from the city to a
country setting, with room for larger
gardens.
Uganda Project:
The new “Widows to Widows” pro-
ject has brought new promise to our
widows in Uganda. Already, we are
learning of other groups who wish to
follow the example of the Michigan
women who initiated this wonderful
program. We also have our first spon-
sor for a widow and her five children!
Imagine the joy she feels at knowing
her children will no longer go hungry,
and will be able to go to school. We
thank God for those who are working to
save these fatherless families.
As the unpredictable months of
summer get well underway, please
keep all of our projects in your prayers,
and remember to pray daily for Pastor
Maurice, as well, as he visits several
areas of our country. Pray that God will
bless his efforts so that many more wid-
ows and orphans may be helped.
